Some exciting things have been occurring and are occurring in the life of The Hinesville First UMC faith/church community. In ascending order:

September 18 – The start of a Bible Study on the book of Daniel – 12 weeks – led by Rev. Force and Rev. Hannah.

September 19 – Seminar – “The Work of the Council on Ministry/NOW” - at Hinesville First in conjunction with Midway UMC and Mt. Olivet UMC.

September 23 – Seminar – “Every Member Ministry” at Midway UMC – led by Dr. Charles Adams – CEO, Epworth-by-the Sea – in conjunction with Mt. Olivet, Hinesville First, Midway UMC

September 24 – Annual birthday celebration – “a good time had my all.”

|
October 5 – The start of Listening Groups – for the church community at members homes – pastors and congregation – covering 10 or more sessions.

October 7 – Golf Tournament

October 13 – Fall Festival
|
October 29 – Charge Conference 4:00 p.m. Hinesville
|

Beginning process of finding a coordinator of the ministry to youth.

November 18 – SPRC Seminar – led by Dr. James Cross, Chairperson of the Bishop’s Episcopal Committee of the South Georgia Annual Conference - in conjunction with Midway and Mt. Olivet (tentatively scheduled for Mt. Olivet). All are invited to attend and get to know the functions of our committees.

(2) The Jack Waller Class for the start of painting of the church interior.
(3) Our youth for cleaning up the youth house.

OPEN LETTER TO MEMBERSHIP CONCERNING FALL FESTIVAL
Dear Members of Hinesville First Methodist and Friends:
Your Fall Festival Committee is taking this opportunity to invite you to participate in our annual Fall Festival on October 14, 2006. This promises to be a great day for our Church and a wonderful time of fellowship for all of us!
Following are the Festival events and times:
9:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.- FLEA MARKET AND CLOTHES BOOTH (CLOTHES FOR AGES 3-12 YEARS)
10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.-

INFANT BOOTH
Outside in the parking lot, the Hinesville Police Department will be doing fingerprinting for children. There will also be a fire truck and an ambulance to explore. FACE PAINTING AND CLOWNS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR THE CHILDREN. The Face Painting will cost $.50 and pictures can be made with the clowns for $1.00.
Free blood pressure screening will also be available.

Items Needed for Country Store
Donations are needed for the Fall Festival Country Store. Anyone wanting to donate items, please call Libby NeeSmith at 368-3947. Items can be picked up or can be brought by the church office. Also, frozen casseroles will be sold. There will be a freezer ready to store the food about a week before the festival. Whenever you make a casserole, make an extra one to be sold at the Country Store. This will come in handy especially as the busy holidays approach.
School Board To Meet
The First United Methodist School Board will meet on Sunday, October 1 at 4:00 in the church library. All members are encouraged to attend.
New Baby
Congratulations to Jason & Brooke Floyd on the birth of their daughter, Lillian “Lily” Ann Floyd born September 20, 2006 at Candler Hospital in Savannah. Proud grandparents are Carroll & Billie Floyd and Keith & Grace Moran.
In Sympathy
Christian love and sympathy to Danette Patti, Dottie Klingbeil, and Jack & Peggy Bell who lost loved ones recently. Our prayers are with you and your family.
Ladies Bible Study Begins
Lillian Neal is leading a Ladies Bible Study on Spiritual Warfare every Thursday beginning at 1:15 p.m. in the Ollie Darsey Classroom. All ladies are invited.
Monday Night Bible Study
